Ipotesi Cinema

Film school

The project, managed by Ermanno Olmi, has been located in Bologna since 2001 after 20 years of activity in Bassano del Grappa. IpotesICinema aims to discover and promote new talents with a highly innovative learning process entailing the conception and realization of a cinematic work by its participants through the so called “memory station” (it. postazione della memoria). This method privileges the “natural timing of reality” rather than its artificial acceleration. Through visual media, it establishes new links with the world in order to provide an authentic account of human relations, their history and the places they live in from a truly objective point of view. In 2004, IpotesICinema presented as a Special Event, at the Venice Film Festival, a collective work titled Osolemio-Autoritratto Italiano in the “Corto Cortissimo” section. IpotesICinema also participated in the Venice Biennale in 2012 with the documentary Come voglio che sia il mio futuro?. IpotesICinema members have been filming and documenting the Gavoi Festival since its first edition.
