Quartetto BatorSax
Musicians
Edoardo Rosa, soprano saxophone
Giuseppe Bussu, alto saxophone
Gianluca Deiana, tenor saxophone
Francesco Santino Scognamillo, baritone saxophone
The BatorSax quartet was created in 2022 from the meeting between some students of the
saxophone class of M. Enea Tonetti, professor at the Conservatory L. Cànepa of Sassari, with the
aim of retracing the steps of the repertoire of the Saxophone Quartet from its origins to our days.
Focusing on present times and the Sardinian territory, BatorSax proposes to collaborate with
emerging composers giving voice to unreleased songs commissioned and written for this formation.
The Quartet has organised several concerts on the Sardinian territory and other areas, which gave
them the opportunity to collaborate with musicians such as the saxophonist Antonino Mollica in a
concert held in March 2023 at the Conservatory L. Cànepa of Sassari, and to cross the borders of
Sardinia as in occasion of the concert on the 5 th of May 2024 at the Conservatory of Music Pietro
Mascagni in Livorno.
